Ephesus Istanbul qualified for the Euroleague Final Four for the first time

 

Ephesus Istanbul beat 80:71 (47:42) over the visiting Barcelona and with a 3: 2 victory eliminated the opponent to qualify for the Fourth Final at the Euroleague Basketball Championship for Men for the first time. Shane Larkin scored 18 points and 7 assists, and Adrian Mourhamne scored 18 points for the Turks. Vasilie Micic contributed 10 points and 10 assists for success. Chris Singleton was the most useful for Spaniards with 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Tomma Jurtel also scored 12 points.

The Catalans started better and at the end of the first quarter they took the lead from 28:21 but gradually the hosts cut off the pass and with a series of 7 relentless points in the last three minutes and a half of the first half they even took an advance of 47:42 at the break. The Turks continued to keep the lead in the score, with seven minutes before the end they pulled with 68:57 and had no problems at the end.

At the semi-finals in the Spanish city of Vitoria on 17 May, Ephes will face Fenerbahçe. In the other semi-finals, defending title Real Madrid will meet CSKA Moscow.
