Real Madrid defeated Panathinaikos for the second time
Real Madrid’s Euroleague champion is only one of the final four-time winners in the tournament for the third consecutive year. At home, the Spaniards had a 78:63 over Panathinaikos and led 2-0 in the series before the transfer to Greek land.
Pablo Lasso’s basketball players started the match very hard and after the first quarter led 13 points to 21: 8. By the end of the match, Panathinaikos reduced his pass to nine points, but after 26:15 in the third quarter, Real rehearsed the outcome.
The best result for the winners was Facundo Campazzo with 13 points, 11 points scored by Jeffrey Taylor and 10 by Antony Randolph and Gustavo Aion. Panathinaikos scored Deshon Thomas with 13 points.
The other Spanish basketball championship, Barcelona, also won a victory, but a 74:72 guest at Anadolu Efes in Istanbul. With success, the Catalans equalized the 1: 1 victory and “stolen” the domestic advantage of the Turkish team. The key to the victory of Barcelona was the aggressive defense game and the better shooting game, especially from the three-point zone.
Leader for the Catalonians in the match was the Hungarian Adam Hanga, who scored 17 points from the bench, and with 13 finished the Croatian center Ante Tomic. For Anadolu Shane Larkin scored 18 points, and Vasile Micic completed 15 goals. The next three matches in the quarterfinals are on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 23 and 24.
