The French team returned to the podium in the FIFA world rankings after winning the Nations League by beating Spain in the final, which rose to seventh place to the detriment of Portugal, while Belgium remained in the lead but harassed by Brazil.
Didier Deschamps’ team won the second edition of the new European tournament in Italy after beating the Belgian team in the semifinal in Turin and the Spanish team in Milan, and between their progression and that of the ‘azzurra’, now fourth, England goes down to fifth rung, just ahead of Argentina, which is still sixth.
Spain snatched the seventh position from Portugal, Germany, already classified for Qatar 2022, rose to twelfth and Uruguay starred in the biggest drop within the ‘top 20’ by falling three places and finishing fifteenth.
Belgium retains command despite losing in the League of Nations to France and Italy. Brazil takes advantage of it to get closer to just twelve points.
